Technology and Teaching, Together
This year we have been installing ceiling-mounted digital projectors in a lot of your classrooms. Whenever new hardware is added, we inevitably have new hardware problems. If you are having trouble with your projector, here are a few of things to try:
If none of the above corrects the problem, submit a Help Request and one of our friendly Tech Support folks will be by ASAP to help you out.
My apologies for not keeping up with my posts this week. My family has been fighting the bronchitis bug, but I’m happy to announce that they are all on the mend!
I know better, though, than to miss posting a Feel Good Friday! We all need some fun at the end of a long week! Have a great weekend and enjoy some words of wisdom from our favorite office nerd – Dilbert!

Many thanks to Tina B. from SJHS for submitting the video for this week’s Feel Good Friday!
Have a wonderful weekend!
This week’s featured website is Free Technology for Teachers, a blog is authored by Richard Byrne (twitter) who describes himself as a “teacher and web apps junky”.
Brace yourself. Once you get started on this site, hours will pass and you won’t even notice. He has researched countless techology resources, categorized them by subject, and provided specific examples of how they can be used in the classroom.
Late addition to this post: I realized that this site was blocked and asked to have the site unblocked. Our district, however, has decided to keep it blocked. The site is an aggregator and they feel that some of the links might not be appropriate for younger students. If you would like to access this site to learn about these tools, you will have to do it on your own time. The site, by the way, has been nominated as one of the top resource sharing blogs for 2008 (http://edublogawards.com/2008/).
No matter what side of the political aisle you may sit, the historical significance of yesterday’s election is indisputable. From the record voter turn out, to the election of the first ever African American to the highest position in the land, to the post election New Year’s Eve-like celebrations, it was all very exciting at at times very moving. There are certain moments in one’s life that are never forgotten. For me, this was one of them.
Here is a great interview with Colin Powell on Obama’s victory:
